Sound of Tennessee is a men's barbershop chorus in Cleveland, TN, and a chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society. We sing four-part harmony every Tuesday from 7 to 9:30pm, and guests sing with us from their first night.

The short version
When?
Tuesdays, 7pm.
We start at 7 and finish at 9:30. We take a break after International and after our Christmas shows. We usually start back the first Tuesday of the new year.
Where?

We're in Bradley Square Mall. Search Google Maps for "Sound of Tennessee" and the pin takes you to our back door. It's tucked behind a loading dock, with our logo small on the door. The front mall entrance works too, but the back is quicker. Open the map pin
Do I audition?
Not to visit.
If you decide to join, come to at least three rehearsals. When you feel ready, you sing the national anthem with three of the guys.
The serious part
We'll teach you. You'll get better fast.
Rehearsal starts on time and keeps moving. Our director, Brandon Guyton, sang baritone in two International champion quartets: Four Voices in 2002 and Crossroads in 2009. He used to be a Barbershop Harmony Society Singing judge, has coached a lot of quartets, and is still a primary coach for Full Effect.
In 2026 the chorus competed on the International stage in St. Louis and placed 14th of 39 choruses. Quartets come out of this room, too. Three of the four men in Full Effect, the 2026 International bronze medalists, sing with the chorus, and Step In Time won the 2024 district title.
That's a lot of medals for a Tuesday night at the mall.

The other part
Then we go eat.
Most weeks, rehearsal doesn't really end at 9:30. A bunch of us head to Las Margaritas (we call it Las Mas), a Mexican restaurant, to eat and sing more tags in the lobby. Barbershoppers call it afterglow. It is at 1647 25th St NW, just off I-75 exit 25.
Guests are invited, so come along. It's the fastest way to learn everybody's name.
