The Sound of Tennessee Chorus is committed to excellence in all that we do. Our Musical Directors are Brandon and Chad Guyton. They are noted vocal coaches, certified Singing judges in the BHS, members of the 2002 International Champion quartet 4voices, and Original members of the Voices of Lee.
We rehearse on Tuesday nights starting at 7pm!
We typically start our rehearsal with some light stretching to work out any stiffness and tension from the day.
Afterwards, one of our directors will lead us through a series of vocal exercises that help warm up our "instrument",improve our vocal technique, and tune our ears.
Then, it's TAG TIME! This is where we sing the last few measures (the coda for you #musicnerds) of a song.
Our director will teach each voice part their line and then we put
all four parts together to give us something like this video.

After that, we jump into the meat of our rehearsal where we work on perfecting our performance!
Sometimes we focus on specific sections of a song (the tag or the key change, for instance).
Other times we we break out into "Sectionals" where each voice part goes to a separate space to work with their Section Leader on an assigned portion of the song.
Around 8:30, we take a well-deserved break! After recognizing our guests and new members we take time to honor our guys who have renewed their membership for another year! Following 10 minutes of refreshments and tag-singing, we climb the risers one more time for our final portion of the evening.
We end each rehearsal with our Society's theme song, "Keep The Whole World Singing", followed by impromptu quartet singing and an afterglow at a local restaurant!
